This is a Havasupai Indian Work Basket, made around 1920 I think. It is old, and has a couple breaks around the rim but it is still a great basket. I think for it's age, it is in great shape. It is large, about 15 inches in diameter and has great designs on it. I looked for a long time before I found this one, and it was worth waiting for! The Havasupai used two different ways of making baskets, twining and coiling. This is a twined basket and it is said that these baskets were usually made of Acacia trees or shrubs.
