I thought I would put up a couple pictures of a bit of jewelry I have as well as a beaded knife sheath I hope someone will identify for me as to tribe. The sheath is old and the leather is starting to get stiff on the back. It has what is called "greasy yellow" beads on it and it is the lazy stitch on the beading. The fringes are still very soft and I would love to know what tribe made this. Hopefully someone can tell me by the design.
There is also a beaded bag, I am not sure who made it but it looks like the Iroquois tribes' work. It is old, and has alot of bead loss on the other side but the beading that is still there is beautiful.
The other is a Beaver tooth necklace, made by the Ojibwe tribe. And the other bag came from Canada. I use it to keep the stone part of my pipe in.
Thank you scandinavian_pieces . I wear the Quahog necklace and earrings alot, and people are always asking "what are they made of?" Then I get to tell them about Wampum and how it was made and used by Native Americans and others.
Thanks, Hedgewalker for the "love" :)
