Hi, In the first week of March 2020 I went to a huge warehouse rummage sale I first saw this secretary desk on Saturday on Sunday everything was 50% off so on Sunday I went back to see if the secretary desk was still for sale and I was surprised to see no one had purchased it on Saturday at $80 so on Sunday I was able to purchase it for $40 about a week after purchasing it the COVID-19 pandemic have arrived in the shelter in place just started so I knew I had some time at home so over about a month I spent refinishing this secretary desk it’s as I know you guys can imagine was a lot of work and time I’ve done several pieces of furniture before but this piece was One of the best pieces I have ever finished I don’t know much about this secretary desk I believe it to be late 1800s early 1900s I originally thought the stamp face was of a woman but my father thinks it could be a Roman also I originally thought this was mahogany wood but it is oakI would love to know more about this piece like when it may have been made and if anyone has ever seen a desk like this and if it is in fact a Roman not a girl on the front thanks for reading.
