When I installed my new cabinets, part of the plan was to increase book storage. I had a great time working on that aspect & was able to innovate some different ways of displaying them, alongside other collectables. The new cabinets also enabled me to rearrange some other bookshelves & glassware.
1. Left cabinet - top shelf - books on glass, various antiques & collectables, collecting, design, & pop culture. Middle shelf - books on art, design, pop culture (especially Japanese), firework labels, cats. Bottom shelf - assorted fiction & non - fiction.
2. Right cabinet - top shelf - LGBTQI/gender, art, design, fonts, fashion. Middle shelf - David Bowie, various rock & pop music, plus collectables. Bottom shelf - assorted reference - art, design, colour, clouds, places, language, plants.
3. Newly rearranged bookshelves next to my desk - top shelves - books on collecting, fireworks, & a vintage Indian firework box as a divider, artists, Bowie, fashion. Lower shelves - glass reference.
4. New arrangement on top of this bookshelf, incorporating an Art Nouveau porcelain vase, a Victorian ruby glass hand vase, Silvestri iridescent glass vase, Kralik floriform vase, iridescent plastic skull Halloween decoration, green satin glass fairy lamp base. On the wall behind, a Ziggy Stardust inspired glass Christmas ornament.
Fabulous glass & cool Ziggy ornament above your great shelving & first rate book organization, well done Marin :)
Many thanks, Jenni, glad you're enjoying it!
The Ziggy ornament gets to be on display all year round while the rest are packed away... :-)
