This is a late 1950s Japan Set. Again, it is of plastic. The two last sets and this one all came to me from the same source, at the same time. The woman who owned them obviously knew what she liked, and just kept buying a similar set ... with obvious style change sensitive differences, as the decade progressed. Faux pearls remained a popular jewellery fashion choice in the late ‘50s, and even into the ‘60s. Textured faux pearls such as those of this set were among the most popular “pearls” in Canada and the United States, as the decade ended. Indeed, short faux pearl necklaces, coordinated with earrings and sometimes bracelets are considered the iconic daytime jewellery of the 1950s. This is in great condition for its age. Coro made a “fuzzy” equivalency of this dark gold or brown-gold set.
Magazine articles, advertisements, fiction alternated between showing women in slacks and women in the tiny-waisted huge skirts in the, by then, decade old New Look, or equivalent dresses as everyday wear. In Canada and the United States, sale of jewelry did not wane in the last half of the 1950s; indeed it escalated.

Very pretty and stylish set, it's lovely
This is gorgeous, but some of the stones bear a suspicious resemblance to the
covid-19 bug !~
Newfld — Thank you. Burnished gold ... burnished bronze, on the way to the 1960s earth culture? Or is that too far an argument reach?
PhilD — Absolutely, they do. Searing image. I will never look at this set the same way again. Smiles.
Eileen — Yes, for sure. Beautiful, almost perfect vintage set. I’m replacing the ad. Didn’t like the first one.
Thanks for the Loves —
