Hi collector friends , hope your all doing well. Thought I would show you another project I have been doing after the gas pump light I finished and posted. I purchased this Kendall oil sign some years ago with the intent on repainting. The original owner had taken an orbital sander to it to remove rust from the white letters but ruined the red paint in the process so I repainted the worst side. I'm not a sign painter so this is my first try. I ran into a few problems with the paint not taking well over the old paint even after a good wet sanding. I finally gave up and finished it the best I could. "KENDALL" was done with masking tape, the rest was hand painted with my shaky hands. Looks ok from a distance but not so up close but it was good practice. The 2nd photo is the side I repainted , the 4th photo is the side I left alone. I still have some touch ups and polishing to do to it. have fun collecting and stay safe.
Looks Great :)
If it doesn’t look good you’re obviously standing too close! Back off and it’ll look perfect! That’s what I tell complainers at our place. Who needs perfect anyway?
If you check in the mirror, we aren’t all that perfect either. :):)
Thanks Trey for the nice compliment !
Thanks Rattletrap, like I said looks good from a distance, love your comment especially look in the mirror lol...better than that just check some recent photos of yourself..I'll never forget when I saw a photo of some old guy next to my mom ...it was me!! Yikes..that was over 10 yrs ago.
