I bought this Guild in 1975 from the original owner. He had had it refinished by an ape. He was a nice old guy then and gave me a great deal. It plays like a dream, even with the little bit of banding that's loose. Since the refinish job was so bad the numbers are covered up. I still use it and she has been on many CDs and records. I think it is an x-175
That's a sweet guitar...if you can somehow make out the serial number, this website should help. Your guess on the model and year is ballpark.

The poor refinish job just gives it more character. If it were me, I would leave it the way it is.
Thanks Lloyd, I have thought about stripping the back of the headstock (but nothing else) to see the number if it is there. It is truly a beautiful playing and sounding guitar.
i have a d-35.nt with serial no. oj1702. can anyone tell me when it was made? it was made in hoboken. thanks
Nifty guitar!
