This is another one of my amber necklaces and in a very different style than the other one I have posted today. This is darker and has inclusions. It weighs 44 grams and it is longer as it is 32 cm long when worn. The "chips" of amber are irregular in shape and thickness but the largest one is 2 cm in diameter. I kind of like this dark congac color. Someone has mended this necklace with a newer ugly looking c clasp. I will change that some day to a nicer clasp. This also passes the tests for amber. But I will not do the burning/hot needle test since I don't want to damage them. This floats in saltwater and if rubbed against wool it gets electrostaticly charged.
Hi and thank you Mary! In a fleemarket shop. They seemed not so knowlegable about vintage jewelry as they had priced all necklaces the same price. Their focus was on glass, porslin and furniture and I had the feeling they had bought lots and had thought "here we have some necklaces lets through them in there as well".....
