You rarely find Cellarettes in pairs especially like these with custom made tops that double as serving trays.I had a hard time identifying what wood these are made with as most are Cuban Mahogany that’s nice but nothing like these that are a beautiful reddish brown color with amber highlights full of tiger stripes that’s been seamlessly applied over 3/4” thick solid cedar. I’ve had several people familiar with wood look at these along with sending photos to websites that identify wood. The consensus is these are made from Angel Step. After careful comparisons of photos of Angel Step I believe there right that’s 3 times the price of Cuban Mahogany. The outside is built around metal tubs that came from a pair of antique cellarettes. The tubs were used to hold ice for beer or wine. Thanks for looking.
What an excellent restoration job, the wood grain is so beautiful! Great vintage find jb
