I bought this at a flea market in Arkansas, I don't know nothing about it the tag said Vintage Chinese Picture but they don't look Chinese more like Great Britain people, seen some on the internet they dated back 1568, what kind of name would this picture be called, they who had knew nothing just glad I took it, any help thanks Bobdirt
Looks very French ??
For me the men posing in the front ground look Spanish, 17th century. The whole piece reminds me of an antique tapestry that would have been hung on a wall, with perhaps several others created by the same artist.
Aubusson is a famous city in France, with a history lasting several centuries of excellent tapestry master craftsmen, a maquette or a cardboard template with the intended design would be made first, and then this would be used to create the large woven textile image.
