I've told earlier about this French Sienna Marble clock garniture set from ca. 1820. It's unusual that such a set has been kept together through 200 years and that was one of the reasons, why I bought it at an auction and had it restored. Clocks like this one always had a small, classical figure on the top and I could also see traces of a missing figure on the top. The figure could have been a classical philosopher's head or a tazza. Fortunately I found a Socrates bust in the local thrift store and marbled a small wooden plate as a foot plate. I hope you forgive my little trick.
