This red ware pitcher is 3.5" high x 3.5" diameter x 5.5" spout to handle. This is a GW find from years ago. At one time I did some research and identified the maker, but they are perhaps no longer in business as a quick search did not provide instant gratification. The mark on the bottom is "Oneil (?) St Luc Que". The Oneil is a guess. I like redware and especially pieces where the potter has applied a decoration around the piece as I am left handed so often don't get the intended view. Seems a bit lazy to me, as well, when a pot has a design on only one side. The lighting diminished the red appearance but it is really brick red.
Thanks for taking the time to look at my Canadian redware pitcher glassiegirl, Thomas, MALKEY, PhilDMorris, bobby725, aura, RichmondLori, Jenni, Watchsearcher, fortapache and Vynil33rpm!
Beautiful - I can't read signature either. Sad.
Thanks for your comment Gillian! Yeah, it is a tough one. No idea how I was able to identify the maker before.
