    I bought a small box from India and these where in the box they look like teeth but maybe shell? Any feedback welcome and appreciated .

      Looks like polished coral to me. Can you scratch it easily on an end ? Shallower water black coral looks like this.

      Thanks for answering --yes it does scratch --on the ends --but the same on the sides too-- even though it is rock like--but not too easy --with nail but does scratch all around

      I was suggesting the end so that it would be less noticeable. The hardness is the same throughout.

      Coral is not heavy like stone or fossil.

      That coral, and some others, grow like a bush. Thicker at the bottom & smaller toward the top branches.
