    These two items are located on the abandoned Lehigh Valley RR tracks in Kingston, PA. Both objects were made by Bethlehem Steel Corporation. Sadly both the Lehigh Valley, and Beth Steel are now defunct. At one time, both were giants in USA industry.

    My only guess as to what the first image depicts is that it may have been some kind of rail joiner, and the second is a tie plate, designed to keep the rails attached firmly to the wooden ties.
