    What type of glassware is this called? A favorite of my husband’s mother’s...been in his family for awhile, but we don’t know much about this lovely piece. My attempt to search for info online has been unsuccessful. Thank you!

      we would need more images, the base and the upper rim, probably European, Victorian, 1900. Size would determine function, thanks for posting.

      I have posted additional photos. The vase with it’s top is approximately 14” tall. The design appears to have been “painted” on to the glass.
      Many thanks for the help!

      I agree with glassiegirl, the quality of the hand painted enamels with lovely scene, and the fine glass fabrication are much like Bohemian glass decanters of late 19th century. Glad you got an answer.

      Thank you all! I’ll keep researching based on your info. I haven’t found anything as detailed online...the paint strokes are lovely. A decanter! Hadn’t thought of that...

      I have seen oil lamps that have a similar painting on them. I just found one lamp that was sold that says it was "made by the Boston Sandwich Glass Factory of Sandwich, MA."
      Titled;
      Boston Sandwich Glass Heron Crane Stork Kerosene Lamp Oil Lamp RARE GLOBE Hand Painted Late 1800's
      It's common to see Sandwich Glass attached to the description of many oil lamps that are for sale.
      Your piece has a better art work painting, in my opinion. Just a thought.

      Thank you for your help, treasuretex ; all of this has been helpful. I’ve researched online with all the info provided, what I’ve found is very close, but not as detailed in painting. Onward!
      Best wishes!
