The box is circa 2000 not the unboxing. The unboxing is still ongoing. I was thinking open the box and put a few pieces together and done. I was wrong. This is way more detailed than I thought and larger too. It will be about 2 feet long when all put together. I have angered some on the vintage GI Joe collector groups when I said the later issue stuff is better than the originals but I am going to stick with that.
Now for some background on the 37mm anti-tank gun the 1:1 version. Forget what the back of the box says, this was a bit on the small side for effective anti-tank use in 1945 but it was still useful. Jeeps could easily haul it and a pair of GIs could easily handle it. Would take out machine gun nests and lighter armored vehicles like half tracks. Plus it goes through stone walls, logs and other such that one may hide behind on the battlefield.
OK time to get back to putting it together.
