Hi! Thanks for looking.
I am hoping someone out there can help me to identify the item that is circled in red in both of my photos here.
I am trying to recreate this prop and have positively identified all the pieces for it accept the main body which, I have been told, was made using an old Dunhill Lighter.
I've been looking through thousands of lighters but have yet to come across anything that has this unusual shape. I do have to admit though, the exterior rods and and mountings DO remind me of old Dunhills, maybe Ronson? please ignore the gold watch gears sticking out of the side, I'm certain thay were not a part of the original piece.
If there is anyone out there that can tall me the make and model of this light, if it is indeed a lighter, that would be fantastic!
Thanks again for looking and feel free to e-mail me:

Part looks like it was a old razor sharpener .
Thanks Penguins!
I have started to search "razor sharpeners" but having even less luck with those.
When I search "Dunhill lighter" I come up with pieces seen in the above photos:rods, knobs, and those round balls with the rods running through them.
Perhaps it's a razor sharpening box with Dunhill Lighter parts attached to the outside?...Still looking...
never seen this before, but i was a magician for quite a few years and it reminds me of a few objects we used to use to prode flames/sparks etc from the hand, not sure if that is any help to you, but good luck in your search

I think it's more likely a ronson lighter
When I first seen this I was thinking that it look like one of thoughs things when you shake someone's hand and it shocks them very interesting I love those unusual things good luck on your search
Is there a flint or wick? Where would the flame come out? I am wondering why your thinking a lighter? I have seen similar palm held items that were cheating devices for gamblers and card players. Or imander may be on track with a magicans device. What happens when you squeeze your hand with it on?
