This 3"L anchor shaped brooch has oval blue rhinestones and white rhinestone accents on goldtone. By Barclay (not McClelland B) 1946-1957, this piece dates early 1950s.
Memorial Day wishes to all past & present military service folk with deep appreciation. This anchor is a nod to my late father who served in the Navy during Korea
Big stones on this. Wonderful!
That's such a sweet memento piece actually, I love how feminine the rather masculine image and symbol of an anchor is made to be here, (or maybe it's androgynous?...) The stones are a beautiful too, such a bright but soft colour! :P
A very nice nod to your late father :)
God bless your late father. The anchor is lovely way to honor his memory.
Thanks for posting this and the sharing the special memory behind it.
Nice anchor brooch!
Thank you all and enjoy the holiday weekend

Thanks so much Karen for the super compliments, yes these big blue oval stones really make the anchor design stand out, I was lucky to find this piece it's pretty rare
Lauren thanks as always for your great comment and agree that this puts a feminine spin on the anchor, it's not often you see one with rhinestones they usually do them with enamel or put them on Navy insignias, and you're right the blue color could be a masculine touch as well
Thank you so much Hoot for your kind comment, it is a time to remember my dad and he was very proud of his military service, a radioman (Morse code operator) which is now an obsolete Navy job due to all the wireless modernization
Many thanks Watchsearcher for the lovely & sweet comment, my dad was a special person and it's a great comfort to feel he is with God now, really appreciate the kind words
Thank you so very much jb for your wonderful comment, I always try to post a military symbol at the patriotic holidays, sometimes it's a small medal type but finding this allowed me to merge a nice costume piece with the message & all the better to find a symbol from Dad's branch of the service
MrsT thank you as always my friend for the very nice compliment it means so much to me & glad you liked this - anchors away!
