Found this Hatchet at a property I purchased. Anyone recognize the stamp? Looking to identify the maker and age if possible.

You have a hewing axe head.
That anvil end (hammer end) tells me this is a carpenters axe used in post and beam and log construction. Handy tool for the right task.
You are correct, a hewing axe is for making beams, etc. One side is flat so you can "hew to the line" and make a smooth, flat , square, surface.
Correct indeed, only sharpened on one side just like a shingle hatchet. Sharpen both sides and all you have is a tool to split kindling wood.
Thank you! Does anyone recognize the “P” or whatever mark that is in the close up picture? It also has a “C” stamped on it closer to the blade.
Second picture looks like the S for the Stiletto Axe Co.
