This Moser cameo vase is from the "Animor" series features an elegant ostrich with to little ones and the nest with the eggs against a background of palm trees. It is more common the same landscape with elephants, its about 31 cm tall and was purchased to Crivelli Brothers on 2019 for 70 U$D. It is very well done and the quality of the ruby cut glass is impressive. The serie was designed by the architecht Rudolf Wels Rudolf Wels worked in the Karlovy Vary region and also Prague, he designed glass for the Moser company. In 1942, Rudolf Wels was interned with his wife Ida and son Martin at Terezín, from where they were sent to the Auschwitz concentration camp the following year. All three died when 7000 remaining inmates of the “family camp” were killed in the gas chambers in July 1944. In 2017 Moser did some vases of the Animor serie to commemorate its 160th Anniversary.
