Hey Keramikos! I love the Victor's the most!
If you find a victor at a reasonable price then snag it:)
I betting you have one favorite cup that you drink your coffee from every day.
Yes,oddly enough it is a fire king from the smoky mountains:)
Wow keramikos.....thanks for the information. They are becoming harder to find but my friend just sold 4 for 80.00 to someone in England. Be on the lookout!
I have quite a few Victors and have trouble not buying one when I see it. Note the "i" in the one you show. The way individual employees marked their work was by using partially incomplete letters. There are many counterfeit Victors out there, mostly from China.
I picked a whole case of a dozen Syracuse mugs last summer for $1 each. Turned out that there were actually 15 mugs in the box...
I like the really obscure makers like Jackson China and others... Can't recall all of the makers that I have off the top of my head... Love American diner mugs, the comfort food of mugs...
Awake, now, and drinking coffee from one of my diner mugs. The box of mugs I bought were by Lawrence China, not Syracuse. Also have some Walker China mugs which I use daily. Not sure what is in the bowels of my cupboard, but know I have Buffalo, Homer Laughlin, Fiesta, Syracuse, etc... Oddly, my favorite diner style mug for starting the day is Japanese, a Galaxy Stoneware by Trend Pacific, the only non-USA made mug I own...
Thanks kwqd for all the information. I have never thought of the story behind an item but more did I like it or not. The folks on CW are awesome and much appreciated by this junker! I am getting ready to post some pictures of my victor bowls. The same victor company?
Victor did make bowls, too....
