These old tin kitchen canisters are nicely made with white porcelain handles on their hinged lids. They're both basically identical, roughly 6-1/4" square and 8-1/4" tall. The bottom of each is stamped "KREAMER PAT. 102704 53". One of them still has (somebody's, not mine) gramma's typed/taped equivalent reminder for substituting 'regular flour' for 'cake flour'.
Presumably gramma is also the one that added the red paint many years ago -- I really didn't notice until cleaning them up slightly that the red is (very neatly!) brushed on, and in fact both now show the faintest evidence of where one was formerly labeled FLOUR and the other SUGAR underneath it, in a cool deco-ish font. Just noticed when looking closer at my own pics that you can, in fact, barely make out at least part of the word SUGAR in the flash reflection on the leaning canister in pic 1.
Frankly, I *prefer* the red color actually, since that's my chosen kitchen accent color...?? ;-) ;-) :-) :-) :-)
I haven't researched 'em at all and don't have any more than a guess that they may be 1940's-50's in age, maybe a little older...??
THANK YOUS to Cokeman1959, kwqd, Watchsearcher, racer4four, fortapache, & Newfld for the <love it> button taps!!
These are eventually gonna look *so cool* on my kitchen counter next to the two other old tin canisters I showed a long time ago that're already sitting there...gotta clean off some less-interesting stuff to make room for these too!! :-0 :-)
