I don't know much of anything about this other than what I can show here. The mortar is 5" across (at the spout) and about 2-1/2" tall, the pestle is a little over 7" long overall and has about a 2-1/4" x 1-1/2" ceramic end on an unfinished oak wood handle. All the ceramic parts appear to be made of an unglazed white pottery.

On its underside it reads "WARRANTE / ACID PROOF / I / MADE IN ENGLAND".

Had a girl living with me in Jamaica who carried a set of these everywhere in her purse. Never saw her use it, but had some good ideas what she used it for. LOL !
