These are a lot bigger than they look in these pictures. There actually small statues not figurines that are 23” to 26” tall. These are the anti Fu Lu and Shou mobsters that bring nothing but trouble and bad luck.Unlike every other set that are described in such glowing terms as bringing luck, health, love and joy these guys nicknames are death dynamite and destruction. They must have been made from some bad porcelain.I’ve had them locked up in the closet away from society for years until they escaped last week.Fu will steal you blind and was last seen driving Lu and Shou around in a stolen Mercedes.Shou is really unique with eyebrows and a mustache made from white glass. He’s a lady’s man who owes child support from California to New York. All 5 of those children are his that Fu and Lu hold to cover for him.Last is Lu who’s a professional con man with a tendency to “accidentally” burn down every place he lives. These guys are on the loose somewhere so beware. If you happen to see them and they start that lucky wiseman stuff run for your life.
Such ornate & beautiful wise (or con!) men statues, I have always loved the Chinese good-bad luck tales & these are fascinating!
Thanks broochman and Jenni for the comment.Your right about the some of the Chinese objects and the meanings behind them. The hand carving on there real old antique Jade and cinnabar pieces are as good as it gets.
