A seller on Etsy offered a few twisted glass “vintage beads from Japan” a few months ago.
I thought they were beautiful and I just had to have them.
They happened to be the perfect match for a “Lauren Conrad” enamel and rhinestone sunflower brooch I already had, so before long, I had made new necklace and earring set for myself.
The Etsy site is called “BonkersForBeads” and I did note that the seller has a few other twisted glass vintage beads from Japan and West Germany.....so, I thought Elizabethan’s beads might also be from one of those countries.
If she sees my post, I hope it helps her track down hers.
kwqd, Broochman, fortapache- Thanks, Guys!
I appreciate the loves!
Thank you, Newfld, Hoot and aura, for the loves!
Wowwwwww! Beautiful. I like the yellow color of the twisted beads.
And thanks for ideas of origin. Will keep my eyes open for more of the twisted beads to make a cinclusion. Thanks!
Thanks Elisabethan, for the comment. I thought you would like them. Their colors and shape do make them stand out :-) :-)
Thanks, foseatme, for the comment....glad to know you liked them also!
Brunswick and TreasureHunter-1, thanks for the loves!
Thanks - interesting info to keep in mind. I’ve only had 1 issue with a seller and that was on eBay- the woman listed beads as “glass” and “silver” but the “glass” bead was glass seed beads glued into a wooden bead and the “silver” beads were silver-colored plastic beads....it’s funny now but at the time, it was like trying to communicate with someone from another planet. I marked it up as “a lesson learned“.
Thank you so much for the explanation about why almost no pierced earrings are seen here.
I did know that most, if not all, posted here are vintage and the time frames of “vintage” and”antique” but that was truly enlightening information about the Victorian’s reason for abstaining from piercing.
I knew there must be some logical reason for the lack of earrings with posts.
Thank you for taking the time to explain it- you are so kind.
Oh, I forgot something important: Thank you, Ms.CrystalShip, for your nice compliments on my little creation with the twisted beads and brooch, and for the “love”!
