fortapache
(3422 items)
Picked this up at an antique mall today, something a bit different than the usual toys I post. Although it does look like a toy it is a salt and pepper shaker set.
The two pieces of toast are the salt and pepper shakers. Mr. Hand helps out in photo #2 showing how when handle on one side of the toaster is pushed the pieces of toast pop up. The bottom comes off the toast pieces so they can be filled. One of the most clever salt and pepper sets I have seen.
This was made in Japan so I would guess 1950s or 60s. After that they were making stereo components while the knick knacks were being made elsewhere.
Creative & so cute
Nice shakers.
How FUN fortapache!! I think one of my grandmas had a set of these too when I was a kid -- I sure remember playing with them!! :-) :-) :-)
Thank you very much Newfld.
Thank you very much Toyrebel.
And thank you very much AO. The guy at the Mall who got them out of the case told me the same thing.
Made it to #2 for the week.
Fun!
I have the same set with the original box.
I'll have to post them in the near future :)
