Wondering what this tool is? Was found in an old barn. Thinking possibly used around a slate or green marble quarry?

Hello, Could the long rod be what is left of a file? If so, I am guessing some sort of sharpening tool. And welcome to CW!!!

I would say around 1950's and possibly Dunlap, tool for sharpening a chainsaw chain.

It is not a file. It's just a pointed rod. Also the other part is a stone(maybe flint?) that is fastened very similar to how the copper tips were fastened to old soldering irons
