This is a bird?! I seen it in the thumbnail and thought it was a modernist bowl, but now I can see the lifted tail and head of a very modern little bird :P the colour is great- a really vivid emerald green and speckled I think?

That's a great bird, and so nice from the 60s.
I love that pared back shape.

Thanks Ken for the super fab compliments you are too kind, I am glad you enjoyed this rather unusual shaped glass bird and his plethora of color, it is always nice to find a rare piece like this one that has a non-traditional look

Many thanks Hoot for the wonderful compliment and finding this stunning, I am so happy to share something a bit different and this bird has quite a special look

Many thanks MrsT for your lovely compliment, I think these colors defy description and I always wonder, how in blazes do the glassmakers get those multicolor splashes into the body, it's a really cool process

Thank you so much jb for the great compliments & enjoying this bird, it delights me to find something out of the box as so many glass animals have similar shapes & designs, this guy really goes his own way!

Lauren you are absolutely right, it is a modernist design and I'm sure from a quick distant look could be mistaken for a curved bowl (very Scandinavian style I think, don't you), my friend with the very discerning eye :) Yes the base green color with speckles is really nice, my only other animal like this is also a bird by Wedgwood but in the more traditional & recognizable bird shape. Love your fabulous thoughtful comment!

Karen thank you for the terrific praise and like you, I love the bowed shape here it does have a very 60s look, the type of "mod" design that was all the rage back then. A break from the ordinary & run of the mill glass birdies, he will definitely stand out near the others in my upcoming display cabinet
