Elephants on parade! This 1 1-2" white rhinestone elephant brooch & matching 1" screwback earrings all have one red eye and are in silvertone. By ORA, founded in 1921 by Oreste Agnini, this set dates from the 1940s
Cute parade of elephants!
I love these.I was a little guy a long time ago when I seen my first group elephants on a Tarzan movie.Tarzan let out his signature yell and here came the elephants with the mom in front and boy riding a small one in back.I must have been 5 or 6 and went outside doing the Tarzan yell (Johnny Wiessmuller ) until I lost my voice or the neighbors told my parents to take your kid to the zoo.Now that I’m older every once in a while I go outside and let out a good old Tarzan yell and those darn elephants still don’t show up but all the stray cats do and I can really get the dogs barking. Now the neighbors want to send me to the nut house.
Very nice- elephants, like cats are great animals to make sculptures from, they always looks so artful, these are very sleek and sweet, like a mother elephant and her two babies :P
Thanks to all for the thoughtful love

Thanks Ken for the super compliments and yes, it is great to be able to show some beauties from a not well known designer. ORA or Ora did some lovely vintage pieces, I have posted their deer set which is a nice Christmas design, & have a couple other figurals - I think that many European jewelry designers have that certain flair
Many thanks MrsT for your sweet comment, yes these elephants are definitely on parade, perhaps like me you remember how they would come out into the circus ring and walk around trunks holding tails, they were so massive & exciting to watch
Lol jb, fabulous story, I sure do remember the Johnny Weissmuller Tarzan yell, he was the best Tarzan no doubt! You must have been a mischievous little boy, take it from me who was a little minx myself. And you are so right, the animals do respond to a yell or even a whistle - in the early mornings when the trees are full of birdsong, I often do a high pitched whistle and darn if they don't think I'm a big ole bird & send out an "answer" call! Are we ready for the booby hatch, I think not, we're just communicating!!! Reminds me of an uncle who had a dry sense of humor, in all my youthful innocence I remarked, "you know Uncle T, St. Francis used to go into the forest & talk to the animals" and he replied "that's just before they took him away!" :))))
Thanks Lauren for the terrific compliments, yes this absolutely looks like a mom and her two baby elephants - I had a hard time taking these pix because screw back earrings are nearly impossible to lay flat, but I managed it in the second 'parade' pic. It is very true that elephants & cats have sleek images and they sure are popular in both jewelry & glass - you know that most people either prefer dogs or cats although some like myself love both, however I find for some reason the ratio is higher for cat designs over dogs, so I have been doing quite a bit of dog searching to be fair to pooch lovers so watch for those in future
Mary thank you for the lovely praise my friend, glad you enjoyed my elephant set :)) Isn't it great that things are starting to normalize in our shops & going back to work, my husband's company has him coming in one week, then staying home working on his laptop the next, to be fair to other employees. There will probably be no vacation time for him this yr as he stayed home (with pay fortunately) approx 3 mos, and forget about bonuses, but at least he still has his job right
Thanx good pal Karen for the thoughtful love and appreciation I am most grateful
Of course I love your parade of elephants!
Thanks Karen!
Really appreciate the kind love and support Pascale, thank you so much
I really like the set, thanks for telling me you had them-Lori
Lori thank you for the sweet comment & love, and I'm so glad you enjoyed seeing these elephants and the deer set by ORA, I was so impressed with their fine quality and the condition being so many years old - a testament to fine Italian designing I think. Their silvertone backing is possibly rhodium & is really lustrous too
Thank you Kevin for the love of this 'elephant parade', it's so nice of you and I am always grateful for the support :)
More I missed, the large one I love, you can almost imagine Marilyn Monroe on his back, gorgeous all 3 !~
Thank you Phil for your fabulous praise and love for this ORA elephant set, yes could you just imagine Marilyn wearing these - some platinum-like silvery bling for the world's most famous platinum blonde!!
Really appreciate the loves vcal and Giana as well, thanks so much for your kind reboots of my older posts
