These were both part of what I found at the Flea Market Today June 21st 2020, Father's Day, kind of like everyday! :^D
First is an Art Deco look Copper and Silver Dove Puff Brooch. The 3 7/8" x 1 3/8" standing Dove is Copper, with a Silver beak, wing feathers, feather tips on tail, and feet, and backed in silver. The Brooch is very well made, but unmarked, by Maker, or of Metal Purity.
Next is the Army Housewife, cloth bag. The Bag contains Buttons, 10yards each of 7 different Army Colors, of heavy duty Cotton Thread, and 10yards each of 2 different all Wool thread. It also has a small wooden lidded tube for Needles, but it's empty! :^D
Thank you for looking, more things to come, tomorrow! All comments are welcome. Stay Safe! :^)
I hope that you all had a good Weekend, and Happy to see another Monday! :^D Thanks so much for the love that you gave, aura, Kevin, Patricia, and my neighbor Lori, it was very nice of you! :^)
Thanks for taking a look. and giving a love, Vynil, Ken, and Brian, it's appreciated! :^)
Thank you my #1 Mary, I thought that I paid up for it, when I bought the Dove Brooch, but the one that I found on line, even though it's maybe a lot on the high side, made me realize, that a trained eye, may not be a bad thing to have! :^D That little "Army Housewife" Sewing kit, is cool! I found similar ones, but not exact, so hard to tell the age, thinking 1950-60's, but just a guess. I got an earlier Revlon CUE Manicure Set, in a Blue Velvet covered Sateen lined metal box, from the same Seller, the Blue is a little faded, but the inside looks new, and tools unused! I may post it with some other things! :^D
Thanks for the love too! :^)
Hello Bill, those are both awesome finds!
I did a quick Google and found another example of your brooch - the seller says it's from the 1930s and is selling theirs for close to $700, so assuming you paid less than that, I think you have a real find here! (And TBH I like yours better - the patina is very pleasing.)
More to the point, it is purely gorgeous - beautiful Art Deco lines and timelessly tasteful. I hope you keep it and enjoy it for many years. I just adore good Art Deco :)
Thank you so much rhineisfine, I've been lucky at finding Treasures like these, at the Flea Market that I go to, and because I've been searching, and buying things there for so long, I know a lot of the Sellers, and Buyers. We all help, and sometimes, hurry to find things that we like, for or before, other people do, keeping it fun though! :^D I've actually, started to buy more Jewelry, because it takes up less room, than Pottery, or Glass, but it's hard to pass up a nice piece, at the right price! I can see that you're going to have a good time on CW, and Welcome to you! :^D Thanks for the love that you gave too! :^)
Very cool dove brooch!
Thank you very much Mrstyndall, I was glad to find it! :^D Thanks for the love that you gave too! :^)
Good to have you stop by for a look at what you can find at the Flea Market Lori, thank you for the love that you gave! :^)
Thank you Karen, for the love that you gave! :^)
Thanks for the love Eileen, I'm off to the dentist! Lucky me! :^B
Thanks Eileen, I didn't see you're comment, thanks much for it, I hit submit and left for the Dentist! Just a check-up and Cleaning, but all in spacesuits, except me I felt naked to the World, with no Mask on, but hard to work in your mouth, with one on! :^(+) It's bad enough with a full beard and moustache! :^{o> So the thing is! Is the Army Housewife Sewing Kit, for the Person in the Field, or the Person at Home, and Who is that Person? &:^} Take Care! :^)
Hi six-0-one, welcome to CW, thank you for the love! :^)
