Hello,
I was hoping that someone might know what year these are from? I believe that it is aurora crystal.
Thank You
I would love to find out any information about this beautiful bug.. I know that they were pretty common in their hay-day | ||

its beautiful.
What a gorgeous bug brooch. My favorite brooches are insects :-) They are still very popular today among collectors .
This is a very sweet little brooch! The colours are beautiful.
I did a little cursory Googling, and it very much resembles a number of rhinestone brooches (variously described as "bee" or "fly") made by a company called Dodds. Unfortunately, all the listings have disappeared, only leaving traces in Google image search. One page - previewed in Google image search (I'll paste the link below) - said theirs dates from 1960s. Again, I'm not at all certain your brooch is by the same maker (I don't know Dodds so I have no idea if they had unmarked pieces), but that may give you a rough ballpark for continuing your research.

(using a TinyURL so that this comment doesn't take up half the page - it's a Google image search weblink so it goes on and on!)
Aurora borealis began to be used in 1955 so this piece certainly can't be any older than that - and I think it cannot be earlier than the 1960s, but that's just a "feel" I have, no proof :)
