I've had this item on my mantle since my grandpa passed away. I have never seen an oil lamp like it so I started browsing Google. I think it's quadruple plated, because the silver concave design. And a black exterior. But I am now left wondering if it's in fact a lamp font. I have been searching various images and can't find anything new or old that's similar.

      Yes silverplate.

You don't show the connection for the font and burner, so hard to say the original use.

I haven't seen many silverplate lamps. I have seen silverplate in a myriad of shapes, forms and uses; so maybe this was a repurpose job?

      Thank you.
Well someone did a mighty fine job dropping a lamp in there. It fits great! Lol. Well now I guess I'm on a new hunt. Any suggestions are welcomed and much appreciated!
