Colonial Premier floor lamp, cat. # 59G410. It has two switches, the top one is a 3 way switch and the lower a push button switch. There are some type on shade holder on the arms, two are spring loaded and the third has a connector in it. I think it was to plug in the shade. They also look like they have little lights in them. I think that there was also some sort of globe to fit over the main socket. On the bottom there is a large capacitor wired into the wiring system. The main light does work. I would like to know what the real shade looked like? I found out that the Colonial Premier Company made high end lamps, but has since been out of business. Could use any new info. Thanks.

Just found out what the shade looks like. The center piece looks like a glass 'spittoon' type container and the three arms hade a flourescent ring bulb that goes around the center shade.

@juststuff, follow this link, bottom of page one there are two (2) images of you lamp without a fancy shade but showing the circular bulb and the center "spitoon".....:::::::::::http://www.lighting-gallery.net/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=816

The shade would have sat on top of the main center feature with 'centering bars'..

      GOOD LUCK

I just bought a Colonial Premier floorlamp at an antique store, silver plated, that sounds a lot like yours. I looks very art deco and has the flourescent ring (that works), the center white glass bowl and a white metal spittoon thing on top. Anyone know where I could get the pretty milkglass spittoon part? The metal one is pretty ugly so it has a black lampshade sitting on it now...

I bought a 12 " flouresent ring light and it works and is very bright. i would love to find a new shade for mine too. Brimfield is next week, maybe i'll get lucky.

      So, what's Brimfield?
    8. juststuff juststuff, 13 years ago
Brimfield antique show. It is where 3 times a year in Brimfield, MA they hold one of the biggest antique shows on the east coast. There is a web site available to check it out.

WOW! I have been looking EVERYWHERE for info on this lamp! I just purchased two in a storage locker that I bid on and won. Where on earth can I get it appraised? I have the glass tops and bulbs for them as well and they all seem to work! This is so cool!

Whoops one more observation. Mine has a green Brazilian Onyx stone on the base. These lamps are VERY heavy!

Does anyone know what these types of lamps are worth?
Or are willing to tell me what you paid for yours?
      thanks!

I have this lamp, no stone in base, with the lamp shade. There is an acorn on the top of the shade. I purchased about 8 years ago, for under $20 at an estate auction across the street from my house.

I found this site searching for information on my lamp. I have this lamp complete. Does anyone know what a complete lamp is worth? Will post picture when I figure out how.

I would like to know more about the Colonial Premier Company. We have a floor lamp with rams head and paw base. The shade ha a long braided cloth cord that adjusts the lamp height.

I have 2 or 3 of these lamps that my father purchased in the 1950s. If I remember correctly the price at that time was about $50. A few years ago I found a web site that restored and sold the lamps; their selling price: ~$1700. The finish looks like silver but is actually a polymer paint. I am in the process of trying to restore a lamp, but have not found the original paint. I have the old ragged lamp shade that I would be willing to photograph and email if anyone is interested.

Thank you BobatMo. I now posted pictures of our lamp and hope it will help you identify it even more.

I just purchased the exact same lamp as pictured above! Could anyone help in giving info on how to locate the bulbs and shade for this lamp? I have done some searching but haven't been able to find anything yet. Thanks!

The center bulb harps a large base but you can purchase it on amazon. http://www.amazon.com/GE-3-Way-100-200-300-Mogul-Light/dp/B0074IJXPO/ref=sr_1_5?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1382848510&sr=1-5&keywords=light+bulb+base
The round bulb is florcent and I still have the original. If you look at the plastic arms you will see one has a connector for the circular bulb. It looks like this one. http://www.amazon.com/Daylight-Naturalight-Fluorescent-Replacement-Circular/dp/B002XR88AC/ref=sr_1_7?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1382848733&sr=1-7&keywords=circle+flourescent+bulb

Awesome I am going to get both bulbs, I can't wait to see if it works the lamp is so beautiful. Do you know if the lamp did have a shade around the middle bulb? It looks like their is a place to tighten one in and the helpful info calls them a spittoon shade.

These lamps are the almost the best of the best. I have an absolutely amazing complete and working one. It is of a different design. It is aged bronze colored brass with beehive designed post and it has 3 candle stick... (not candelabre because they hold full size bulbs) and the center bulb. It has the original milk glass diffuser shade and an amazing lighted base. These lamps are top of the line and worth the money. I own a antique store and these lamps are super quik sellers. Just one look at a colonial premier lamp and if you consider a new piece of junk from these department stores and are willing to pay close to what you can by a reall gem then you have no sense of quality

I don't believe the ring bulb provided in the amazon link will work. The light bulb in the link has prongs to the side and looks like not enough of them. The older bulbs connected to the lamp at the bottom of the bulb and had four prongs-look at the connector in the plastic prong.

The replacement shade in David Alexander's link is not correct either. Wish I could post pics for you in thread as I have lamp and shade. All I can say is it's got a bulbous onion base made from glass and then this horn shape shade made in metal on top of the onion bulb base. Think you're going to look hard and long for anything like that. You're better off using the base, rewiring and upcycling it.

I have just obtained this same lamp. It's called a Spittoon Lamp because of the shape of the shade which is white glass. The lamp is silver plated. The plastic tabs hold a round fluorescent. I went to an electrical supply company and bought a GE Cool White 32 bulb. It's 12" round and costs about $18. Some of these lamps have different bases, some with marble, some in brass. Mine is rather tarnished, so I'm going to try to polish it up, but really don't care if it does or not, as it has much character as is. If anyone would like a photo of the correct shade for this lamp, please email me and I will forward you one. solojoe55@yahoo.com

I have a complete lamp but the ballast went bad. Does anyone know where I can get another ballast or have this one repaired. Also would like to get a wiring dia.

Thank you all for this thread. I've worked in the field of antiquity for nearly 40 years and don't recall seeing one before this year. Delighted to find others equally surprised and delighted. SHocked to find one with all three plastic hooks and springs intact. Looks like someone replaced mogal base with standard socket, if mogal base was original on these, and rewired it about 40 plus years ago. Globe and metal crown in great shape. What are these things made of? Feels heavy enough to be iron. Did anyone find a particular cleaning method to be worth it or just damp cloth wipe, site back and enjoy? Last, there really were no shades made go over or around the fluorescent?
