This is part 1 of what's gotta be a 2 part post once more, just for enough photos of this piece.

This clock was made by the NEW HAVEN CLOCK CO., very quick google searching so far suggests it was likely a product of the 1920's and not at all an uncommon type of clock even now, the same search produced pics of *many* different styles of the same basic thing, including a good number already shown here at CW. Its rather plain case measures 20-1/2"w X 5-1/2"d X 9-3/4"t.
It is currently in 'running' condition, but needs a little professional help to be 100%. I have already had a reputable clock shop examine it, hoping I'll somehow come across the funds one of these days to actually get the work done?! (and until then, it still looks pretty sitting on the shelf...) ;-)
This post shows the exterior of the clock (and its key), the next one will show its movement and chime parts. If any of our resident clock experts can tell me any more about it, please feel free to share! :-) :-) :-)
I love that cute little door on the back....like a fairy entrance. :-)
Thst cute little door with the little metal 'grille' on it, Watchsearcher, actually has a similarly perforated adjustable part on the inside of the door such that one could 'control' the loudness of the chimes. A very cool detail!! :-)
That little detail makes it even more super special and adorable!
Oops Watchsearcher -- after researching/playing with the clock for a few minutes just now (to see if I can re-sync and set it properly, etc) I realized I inadvertently lied to 'ya...there isn't any 'inner door...sorry... :-( :-( :-(
(but I *still* think its a fun clock, and am enjoying learning more about it -- to think it's likely about twice as old than I am...good grief?!! <lol>)
I don’t think you lied- and I wouldn’t hold it against you if you did....it takes quite a lot to rile me up!
:-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
Thanks SO MUCH Watchsearcher for your comments ;-) :-) and also to you, vetraio50, fortapache, Bruce99, RichmondLori, blunderbuss2, & officialfuel for stopping by and leaving your <love it>s!! :-) :-) :-)
