This is my old garden bench, bought many years ago. Made of painted cast iron and wood, but surprisingly comfortable to sit on. Notice the charming old repair. In the old days you didn't discard, but repaired. As far as I've been able to find out, it's from around 1920, so this year an antiquity.
A lovely yard you have! Are those hosts blossoms I see in the right side of photo 3? And the shrub beside those flowers that I’m presuming are hostas? And on the left side of the photo, in the shrub border, there are some shrubs that I have not seen before—very large lobed leaves....what are they called? Behind the bench and in front of the bench also....you might as well just name them all!
Oh, I’m so nosey maybe...but I love exploring other people’s yards and seeing their creations achieved with plants and interesting items such as your pretty garden bench with it’s skillful repair.
I’m imagining the bench gives you a perfect view of a garden paradise, manicured and serene, and ever-changing with the seasons.
To the left Rodgersia pinnata and the bush Sorbus Koehneana. Behind the bench Chameacyparis lawsonia 'Columnaris'. To the right different sorts of Hosta and in their front a glimpse of the climber Humulus lupulus. In the circular bed different sorts of Rhododendron.
Thank you so much....I’ll look those up since I’m not familiar with them.
