Hello fellow Collectors!
Here is what we think is a beautifully painted and finished Ansonia La Verdon Mantel Clock constructed of some of their finest porcelain bearing Franz Anton Mehlem's Royal Bonn trademark and fitted with an Ansonia "5 1/2" Open Escapement movement and cream-colored dial.
The La Verdon is circa 1901 and can be found in noted authority Tran Duy Ly's book "Ansonia Clocks and Watches" on page 621. As you can see, this lovely example is mainly purple and was painted with Poppies and Daisies in bright reds, whites, purples and blues
The La Verdon is of a substantial size for a porcelain clock. It measures 14 1/2 inches tall by 13 1/2 inches wide and 6 inches deep. It

Absolutely beautiful porcelain clock, the floral design is so lovely and what amazing condition for its age - that purple framing has definite appeal to purple lovers, myself included!

Great looking clock Bruce! I have one that's in pieces. The case isn't marked though and it's in pretty bad shape. The glaze is all cracked up and dirt has worked itself into the cracks... Oh, and it's white...lol.
