1929 Black and White Marble Leon Hatot ATO Clock with Pewter Plated Owl Finial

This is by far my favorite ATO clock. It was manufactured in Paris in 1929 by Leon Hatot. Two things stand out about it, the clock has matching garnitures which is rare, most of Hatot's clocks did not have garnitures, I only know of three clocks with matching garnitures that he produced this being one of them. The second thing is the Pewter plated bronze Owl finial, this is the only clock that I know of out of the Art Deco Period that has this unique feature. Most clocks and garnitures from this period feature spelter (lead and zinc mix) finials and ornaments. It is my belief that the Owls are by Leon Hatot, he was a sculptor, the Eagle and cat in picture 4 are by him.

You can date Leon's ATO clocks by the clock face and hands, those featuring the spider web face were made after 1928.
