Here is some trunk advertising and label images of 4 different manufacturers with ornate appeal that I referenced in a previous post. May this shed some light on these types of sought after ornate trunks and the many makers of the time period. Enjoy!
1.P.C. Murphy 1879 St. Louis Directory
2. Brothers 1886 Wichita Kansas
3. Schmidt Brothers Billhead 1885 Wisconsin.
4 . Fond Du Lac,(D.C.&JH. Lang Wisconsin.)
I see what you mean Drill. All with slight hardware variations could by rights be any of them. Thanks for some clarification. I am having really no luck finding images to match or similar to, the ornateness and structure of my trunk but for kathys. Not to plentiful that's for sure. Thanks again for the post!!

Yes Tom, That is the "Four Chiefs" trunk I did six years ago. It has a twin called "The Buffalo Slaughter". A wonderful Lady who goes by" Thunder " on collector's weekly owns them now. Her trunk collection is stunning I wish she would post them.
