The Art Deco master Demitre Chiparus was a master of a lot of mediums besides bronze and ivory. Chiparus worked in clay, ceramics, and produced many oil paintings, according to Alberto Shayo's lavishly illustrated book "Chiparus Master of Art Deco". This ceramic box lid appears on page 265 as item 200 in that aforementioned book.
Casually looking at her some would think she is just a piece of cheap Japanese ceramic, she's not.
Her condition is okay aside from a break near her rear, which hints at what probably happened to the bottom of her box. Even without her box bottom and break, she still has value as not to many of these ceramics survive.
FABULOUS !!!!
