Huh- he's like those albino peacocks you sometimes see(the prettiest version of a peacock I think?) He's got a lovely, elegant flowing shape too and very restful in his pose :)

Lauren thank you for the lovely praise and keen eye seeing the female peacock in this glass bird, I rather thought so too it is too flowing & elegant to be a mere pheasant IMO. At a botanical park I visited they had both male (the brightly colored) and female (white accented) peacocks at the entrance, I will never forget their beauty and appreciate the reminder my friend

Thanks MrsT for the fabulous comment and inquiring about Paden City Glass, they were only around till 1951 but made some impressive animal pieces including this blue pheasant which must weigh at least 5-7 lbs (my heaviest glass animal). They primarily used this light blue color or clear glass & some of their other animals were a polar bear, rooster, duck, rabbit and horse - one lovely piece is their seahorse which I would love to acquire someday. Their owner David Fisher came from New Martinsville Glass which went on to be Viking, these WV glassmakers were tops in US vintage glass co's

Another company I had never heard of Jenni.
This is a fabulous big bit of glass and must dwarf some of your other pieces.
It's quite a modern looking piece, and that blue is beautiful. Very well formed.
      I am impressed! Again!

Thank you Karen for the wonderful kind compliments & love, yes this is a small US glass co from WV that closed in 1951 so their pieces are hard to come by, and this humongous blue pheasant was a very lucky rare find - it easily weighs over 5 lbs and is very heavy, I am going to have to put it in an open credenza as it will definitely crowd the others
