Back from a hiatus, Columbia and the Spirit if St. Louis have returned for a more extended engagement.
Circa 1929, two years after Charles Lindbergh flew the Atlantic alone, this statue was created and marketed to Aviators, Airline Executives and Aircraft Manufacturers who were all riding the aviation wave of enthusiasm that swept the USA and the world between 1920 and 1940. This time period was known as the "Golden Age of Aviation" with great strides in speed and endurance becoming the top news of the day.
