https://kholuy-muzeum.ivn.muzkult.ru/belov_v_a
Belov Vladimir Andreevich
Honored artist of the Russian Federation,
knight of the order of Lenin
He was born on September 3, 1923 in Yuzha. He did not receive a systematic art education. Studied the method of "posadnitsa" at S. A. mokina, founder of Kholuy lacquer miniature. Following the creative principles of his teacher, Vladimir Andreevich advocated a new, more decorative kholuisky miniature, which attaches great importance to the creation of an artistic image, a deep disclosure of the theme. In his work, he is primarily an experimental artist, which is why his works are so different from each other. He was subject to any topic. Many works are based on Russian folk tales: "The tale of the dead Princess"(1958), "snow maiden"(1960); folk epics: "Russian heroes"(1959), "Volga and Mikula"(1962). miniatures "Ermak"(1957), "Novgorodians at Dmitry Pozharsky"(1961), "Andrey Rublev"(1963) were written on the historical theme. modern themes were Not left out: "Here will be a garden city"(1960), "Heavenly brothers" (1962). the artist spent a Lot of time and effort on the creation and development of decorative panels: "Boyan"(1971), "Falconer"(1972), "Stepan Razin"(1973). The panel "Prophetic Oleg" (1967g.) received a Large Gold medal at the Plovdiv international fair in 1969, and "Firebird" (1965g.) became a symbol of the art of grooming. Since 1966, Belov V. A. was a member of the Union of artists of Russia, his art was admired by the West at the world exhibition in Brussels, and his miniatures were applauded by visitors to the EXPO in Montreal. And the Motherland marked his skill with the highest award - the Order of Lenin in 1966, and in 1968 Vladimir Andreevich was awarded the title "Honored artist of the RSFSR". He always shared his knowledge and experience with young people: he taught composition at the vocational school from 1953-1958, 1960-1961. And since 1970, he led an experimental creative group of young artists at the factory. Until the last days, the master led an active creative life. As a result of experiments with decorative panels, he developed a new non-standard technique that resembles iconographic coinage in gold-these are the works of recent years: the panel " Prophetic Oleg "and the icon" Transfiguration " with the effects of luster of various strengths of gold and silver. Dedication of the mural the artist has led to iconography. He wrote "the burning Bush" and "the Saviour not made with hands", transferred to the Vvedensky Church of the village of Kholuy. V. A. Belov died in 1998.
You are correct, Keramicos. There is a name in between the text in the photos. But I could only choose four. (Photos)
I have substituted the receipt pic with the text in the middle.
Wow!
I am impressed with your skills, Alina.
Thank you
Keramicos, you are amazing!
Thank you.
It seems as though the art on the box was produced similarly many times by the artist or possibly students? It may have been made for a souvenir market? It is however, a somewhat lengthy process to make the box. The painting does not appear to have been hurried to me. As one might expect of something made for market.
I will try and date the purchase of the box.
I am thinking now the artist is Belov V.
I am trying to get a date of purchase for the box.
Aah
That is a red tail hawk
They are common in CA
Dear Alina,
I took the time to review your research tonight. The artist is interesting.
Thank you.
I will try and translate the Russian text.
My dad says grandma visited USSR sometime in the 80’s.
Cheers.
Kindest regards,
Scott
Hi, the date of manufacture of the box is on the receipt. Unfortunately, the receipt is torn up. There was only the number 7 left. Please show me the photo of the receipt again. I'll translate it.
