First of all hope everyone and their loved ones are safe and well in these crazy times! Hunting for treasure online was a great pastime during lock-down however competition is a bit fierce when everyone is doing it. Then there is the problem of getting your stuff delivered while the world is in chaos.
This was a great score, an Archibald Knox design for Liberty & Co in 15ct gold, circa 1900. It is beautifully made in sections that all pivot off the central setting. I found the one on the left on a dealer site in Australia, the one on the right with variations including diamonds is courtesy of Tadema Gallery from their Liberty & Co archive.
It is model 8415 from the Liberty Jewellery sketch-book, p.286, and is illustrated by Steven A. Martin on p.247 of Archibald Knox (2001).
Absolutely gorgeous necklace, a fabulous find
