Love this tray from the family camp in northern New England. I have never known how to display it. I guess from early 1900's. Seems like a giant tile with maker mark KAW and CN in the mark. Metal is silver tone but not tarnished. I can find Christian Neureuther as artist at the KAW company. Anyone have info on how rare or artsy it is? or advice on how to display - I really love the design.
Thanks.
I think more towards Art Deco, but I'm no expert.
Gorgeous tray, I have a few of these. Art deco period, mine are from WMF the German metal company, and the porcelain is from another German company.
Not sure about your maker, but it is from the same period 1925-35, the metal gallery (sides) is in excellent condition for it's age, mine have some deterioration of the smooth surface.
Here is an example with the same shape and similar mark from an estate auction:

Thanks truthordare. I followed your link and searched Christian Neureuther (which I believe is the CN on the mark on my tray)
While the one that came up at the link has wood and is much prettier IMO, the tile looks to be the same era and style.

This is great info jplamm, thank you. Love the second wood and porcelain tray, now that I see the date they used at auction, it's possible this is inspired by the Central Europe Secessionist movement, another modern artistic style popular during earlier 20th century. Those colors are wonderful on the porcelain surface too.
