One of Four jackets found in my attic from the Voluntary Military history of this gentleman. The earliest dates from 1881 in Kent England where he served for 12 years in the militia. This one from 1916 when he volunteered in Winnipeg at the age of 55. He served for nearly 3 months before discharged "Unlikely to become efficient"
One jacket ,single stripe is in the local Museum, 2 more from the same Battalion came from my attic-surprising for such a short service. 5ft 3 1/2 inches and 113 lbs .No Drum in the attic but I found a pair of Cymbals with a button attached from the 100 th. Battalion in a WW1 kitbag. Also a Triangle which is now my Dinner Bell, hung on the Verandah of the house that Henry built.
