These are not stamped sterling but I have no doubt that they are silver They are too lightweight to be plated. Each measures 2.5 diameter and 3 and 3/8 inch high. They are embossed with a honeycomb pattern and look to be handmade. I am wondering if anyone has ever run across this mark? PST in an oval form. I am thinking they are part of a set....perhaps mint julep?
You have no doubt it is silver without testing it??? You must be good. No mark?? Ever heard of fool's silver? Nickel silver? Chromium? Light weight and "looks" just like silver with one difference......it isn't marked as being silver.
Sorry for offending you. I understand how you must feel. I do however know silver when I see it. But you are welcome to your opinion and to um, suffer with mine. Thanks.
You didn't offend me you made me laugh.
...and it tested positive. In case you thought I forgot about your silly notion that people cannot tell the difference between silver and alpaca or plate. Peace though, perhaps one day you'll learn yourself how to detect such things.
Even plated silver will test positive for silver. The difference being it is against the law to mark plated silver with the word Sterling. Wonder why your items aren't conforming to international silver standards? Golly must be a conspiracy or a fraud or the Democrats are behind it all. The truth has been stolen again.
