My grandfather left me this cameo when he passed away in 1982 at the age of 80. I had admired it at his home and he noted it and left it to me. He told me back then that it had belonged to his Aunt. He was born in Minnesota.

My sister and I both wore it at our weddings. We have long wondered if it has a backstory or where it came from originally. Would love people's thoughts.

Edited to add: the picture isn't great but the "diamonds" go all the way around.

    Thanks,

    Victoria

Hello, Victoria. How lovely to have something with so much family & personal history connected with it. Since you wrote it as 'diamonds', I'm assuming you realize this is a beloved piece of costume quality jewelry, probably meant to mimic Wedgwood cameos in this light blue.

From the photo I cannot be sure of the material, but it gives off clues of being some sort of resin, so I think it is not something your great grandaunt had when she was young. About how old were you when you remember first seeing it?

The construction is unusual; afraid I can't tell you who made it. It has survived quite well.
