We have had this iridescent stoppered bottle with brass mounts for several months, pre-Covid-19. We like it so it doesn't matter who made it, but we would also like to solve the mystery someday.
The ball and body glass are of the same color. This does not seem to have been made piecemeal from disparate glass parts. The bronze elements are well made and specific to the piece, but still somewhat unrefined. The bottle bears an L.C.T. inscription. The aspects of the bottle that say Tiffany are the ball, as Tiffany used these in lamp finials and a few other places as accents. The rope at the collar matches rope used by Tiffany. IF this is Tiffany made we think it would have been a prototype, maybe a first try at a concept. We don't know if this would have been inscribed were it that. We have had people that should know come down on both sides of the signature's authenticity. When we showed this in the Tiffany FB group the idea of a prototype was soundly rejected as if Louis Comfort Tiffany and his employees produced perfect executions from drawings or Tiffany's musings on the very first attempt. It was too crude and nothing about it said Tiffany. We found this notion to be absurd on its face and somewhat pompous to be honest.
So... it remains a mystery. We feel that there is enough wrong to cast serious doubt. We also think there is enough right for thoughtful reflection on what might be possible. Either way, for us it is a keeper. We enjoy our quirky glass.
