Here are three musical instrument brooches from the 1970s by Roman: a 2 1-2" trumpet, 2 1-4" saxophone and 3" bass or cello, all goldtone with rhinestone accents. With an 11 1-2" orange glass music note by Sweden's Bergdala Glass, also 1970s with label.
Hope CW music lovers incl Thomas-Brunswick - a birthday gift to you T! - will enjoy these. As I love jazz, this trio brings to mind the 1974 Carnegie Hall concert with Gerry Mulligan (sax), Chet Baker (trumpet) and Ron Carter (bass)
Love the brooches and I can't sing or play a note. Musically challenged completely really.
I adore the Bergdala! It's nothing like what I have seen by them before.
These are so fun and different- I see them and hear something very jazzy in my mind already! Musical instruments and musical notes have a certain look about them, very artistic I think? And as for music notes, they're so elegant and make great pieces of sculpture like your glass piece.
These are really nice, what an awesome grouping!
These are wonderful ! I love them and love music :-)
Many thanks music fans for the love

Thanks Mary for the great compliments and I so agree, nothing like hearing live music and so sad that all these venues have closed right now. You know in my younger days jazz was very popular on NY radio stations and I won several contests - you had to choose three compatible jazz tunes to be played as listener of the week, they would play them on air & give out prizes. I won several times, and a couple of the prizes were free choice seating at NYC jazz clubs to hear some great artists, that was a blast
Karen I thank you for the wonderful compliments and like you, I am quite musically challenged - when I try to sing along to something my husband just groans! My biggest fans are birds though, I sometimes try to imitate their calls or whistle, often they stop their chirping to listen to me & then give an answer call lol (as the song goes, "they're coming to take me away, haha"!!) The Bergdala was a great find, I had always wanted something to tie the musical instrument pins together & thought that would make a good backdrop
Thanks Lauren for the really super compliments and appreciating my jazz setup, you truly got the idea I was trying to convey - I placed the instruments in such a way that the unseen musicians would play them naturally - the up tilted trumpet, down slightly bent sax and straight up bass! Only wish I could have photographed the glass treble cleft vertically but then the photo would have come out sideways with my tablet camera, oh well, glad you liked them as is
Thank you six-0-one for my favorite compliment about being creative, that pleases me no end as I love doing the occasional combo post but they aren't all as compatible as these. You know, my career was medical transcription which was very interesting, it was always different stories about people and I enjoyed it, but one of my dreams if I could change careers would have been a window dresser for a NYC dept store, how fun would that be to use your imagination and create a different scenario around a subject, I'd have loved doing that
MrsT thanks so much for the lovely praise and enjoying the grouping, always a kind & upbeat word you're so nice to me
Thomas my music specialist friend, I am totally delighted you got to see this post & it gets your approval! You should never feel underappreciated we all love you here & look forward to every post with great anticipation
Thank you so much Mani for the fabulous compliments & enjoying my little musical band, I think music is a universal language that brings us all together, so whatever type is your favorite I wish you much listening pleasure ahead - I am headed to the CD player right now to listen to a little bossa nova :)
Thanks AnythingObscure & jb for the kind love, it is greatly appreciated & very glad you enjoyed this music post
