One of those rare occasions when the base of a glass item can help identify the producer.

We have discussed these pieces often in the last 6 years and more. Some of us believe they were made by several glass houses, other collectors are prone to keep the identification to one. The production date may be several decades long, early 20th.

In my Bohemian/Czech glass collection, and while working on my website, part of my purpose was to investigate and study some Kralik glass that was not as popular or let's say more economical in their value. Based on workmanship and complexity of shape and decor.

Over time I accumulated a small grouping of glass vases and other shapes, in these decors, and what I discovered is that the base all have something in common, one of those thing you wont know unless you come across a base image, or you own the piece.

I am talking about the mold used for the fabrication, the fact it had a textured base surface, mostly a linear sun rays design, or in the maze decor, the base also has that maze decor surface. The second commonality is there are no marks, no place for marks anyway.

I am attributing these to Kralik, Alfredo V. had already done so before in the early 2010 years. Today there is a wider range of beliefs. This is mine.

Upload of images is done, some of them have an increased contrast and a darker tone, so the glass detail is more visible, in my daylight background.

This post was inspired by 2 CW posts, with yellow cadmium glass colored pieces, which I deem to be Kralik as well.

Nice photos but I must disagree with the blanket attribution to Kralik. Surely the top left photo contains Welz pieces: 'maze' (green) and 'spiraloptisch' (red)? There is a profound difference between 'belief' and 'fact'.

Where is the difference between your beliefs and mine Angus?

Show me a tangible factual documentation that says so, the rest are educated beliefs based on personal study from various sources.

I don't mind if people disagree with me.

Just to make this identification process even more interesting, here is another decor in the spiraloptisch form glass piece, but with green confetti frit, bands of glass around the center.

If I remember correctly this was one of the decors that changed identity a few years ago after a new book was published, and went from Kralik to become by Heckert.
